LRMA in Laurel has Quilt Exhibit

The Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel, MS is hosting an exhibit called Handstitched Worlds: The Cartograpphy of Quilts. It will run from January 30 till April 21, 2024. If you are interested in attending this exhibit, please check out the the LRMA web post on this by clicking here. Laurel is a fun city to visit…it has a vibrant downtown area and of course it is the home of Erin and Ben Napier of HGTV’s Home Town. Take a day and go see this exhibit and pick a local restaurant and stores to visit and shop. I am sure it would be a great day.

There are going to be two guest lecturers at LRMA. Dr. Sandra Sider will be presenting a lecture “Centennial to Bicentennial: Quilt Making in the United States, 1876-1976.” This will be on Thursday, February 15 at 5:30. Our own Martha Ginn will also be giving a lecture Beyond the Blanket: Creating Art Quilts” and that will occur on Thursday, March 21 at noon.
